WSU Student Chapter Grant

On Wednesday November 5, 2014 Dr. Lisa Pearson from Washington State University, College of Veterinary Medicine visited Iowa State University, College of Veterinary Medicine and spent time over the lunch hour and during a dinner meeting lecturing to the students of the Society for Theriogenology club and American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners club about her knowledge and experience in camelid theriogenology. Over the lunch meeting she discussed female camelid reproduction and discussed topics of the anatomy, estrous cycle, pregnancy and dystocias. During the dinner meeting Dr. Pearson presented multiple cases involving male reproductive issues and abnormalities. She was able to give the students much insight into what some of the most common reproductive issues are for camelids and how to go about treating them. Dr. Pearson stimulated much interest in the niche of camelid theriogenology and had great group participation and questions from the students who attended.
